3D water is created in the same way 3D floors are, but using the different linedef type. You can also script in drowning with relative ease.

  1. First create your dummy sector with the floor height at the height of the bottom of your pool and the ceiling height at where you want the surface of your water to be.
  2. Make both the ceiling and the floor your liquids texture (eg. FWATER1).
  3. Make the dummy sector darker than the sector that the water is to appear in. Giving it a lower light level makes it easier to see the translucent texture of your liquid, but is optional.
  4. Now make one of the lines of the dummy sector type 301 and tag it to whatever sectors you want water in.
